Gene Sisk is a local artist who enjoys painting with both oil and acrylic, but leans more toward acrylic. He paints on canvas, wood and metal. He primarily paints rural scenes such as old barns affiliated with cotton fields. Gene says that cotton, in his opinion, is the rose of the south. Nothing can compare, from the bloom on the plant to the final harvest of the puffy pure white fibers. Gene is a self-taught artist and enjoys testing different techniques. He is also a creative crafter and incorporates his painting into that arena as well. See more of his work on his Unusual Crafts Facebook page. He is also a professional musician and singer.
