William Hill

William Hill is a prize-winning poet and essayist. He is also an ordained minister who serves as an evangelist with the If I Have Not Love Ministries headquartered in West Point, Mississippi. William has one book published, “It’s Not Even Past…,” a collection of poems that delve into his life growing up in north Mississippi.

Currently, William serves as president of The Poetry Society of Tennessee and is the Chaplain of the Mid-South Christian Writers Conference. He is a dedicated member of the Byhalia Area Arts Council, the DeSoto Arts Council, and is a founding member of the Southaven Arts Council.

In addition to his involvement in The Poetry Society of Tennessee and the Mid-South Christian Writers, William is a member of the Kentucky State Poetry Society and the Mississippi Poetry Society, where he is leading the effort to establish a branch in the northwest part of the state.

William started painting to enhance his poetry. He has always been told one creative effort would help one grow in another. He works primarily with acrylics on canvas, canvas board, and wood. Lately, he has been experimenting with watercolors. Besides painting, William creates one-of-a-kind gifts, what his Mama used to call “what-knots,” from recycled or repurposed materials.

His goal is not only to earn a living but to build lasting friendships and, most importantly, to be a living testimony of his faith to all those he encounters.
